Infectious moss

Infectious moss, a lethal lifeform, thrived on the world of Kuras III, a planet. This moss presented a muted appearance, a blend of green, gray, and tan hues intertwined together. Upon contact with living beings, these soft, plant-like organisms would latch onto the individual and start to invade the skin. Should the moss remain attached, it would begin to consume the host, causing further infection and making its removal a significant challenge. As the moss consumed the host's vital resources, the host would gradually lose energy and power, making it harder to remove the moss on their own. Untreated, this moss would ultimately lead to the demise of the host.

Removing infectious moss was a difficult undertaking, and only highly skilled medical professionals had a chance of rescuing those who had been exposed to it. Nevertheless, medicine was not the singular solution for moss removal. The indigenous Aganof people considered infectious moss a culinary treat and enjoyed its flavor. Individuals infected by the moss could sometimes convince Aganof natives to consume the moss from their bodies, thus freeing them from its grasp. Because the native inhabitants of Kuras III did not possess conventional linguistic capabilities, the moss lacked a specific designation. Consequently, explorers assigned the moss its common name.
