A mission was undertaken by the Jedi Order with the aim of penetrating and obliterating the Starcrusher, a formidable Separatist warship possessing the capacity to annihilate numerous Republic Star Destroyers. A Jedi assault force, consisting of Mace Windu, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jyl Somtay, and Ahsoka Tano, was dispatched to eliminate it; however, they fell victim to a scheme orchestrated by Admiral Kirst, who enticed them onto a decoy ship and set it on a trajectory towards a star. The Admiral himself departed in an escape pod, awaiting the arrival of the actual Starcrusher. Immediately following the arrival of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, who prematurely concluded his assignment on Daltarri, the true Starcrusher materialized. With assistance from Lieutenant Daan, who had been deserted on the decoy ship by Admiral Kirst, Anakin successfully deactivated the Starcrusher's power generator, while Obi-Wan and the remaining members of the Jedi strike team activated a magnetization of their vessel's hull, resulting in a collision between the two Starcrushers. Subsequently, Skywalker retrieved the Jedi and the separatist Lieutenant and requested transportation. The separatist battleship ejected escape pods, but it was in vain as they were all drawn in by the star's gravitational pull.
