The "Starcrusher" represented a substantial starship utilized by the Separatist forces. During the era of the Clone Wars, it was cleverly designed to mimic the appearance of the battleship known as Starcrusher. Its primary function was to lure a group of Jedi Knights into a carefully orchestrated trap.
This particular vessel was constructed to give the illusion of being the genuine Starcrusher. However, its interior was largely empty, and it possessed only a limited number of operational systems. To facilitate rapid departures, it was equipped with numerous escape pods. Furthermore, it had a bare minimum of life-support capabilities and just enough power to execute brief hyperspace jumps.
When the Republic dispatched a number of cruisers with the intention of launching an assault on the Separatist fuel tanker named Aurora, the decoy ship arrived, intentionally presenting itself as a tempting target for the infiltrating Jedi.
The deception worked, and the decoy vessel was successfully boarded. However, the minimal crew that was present quickly abandoned ship in escape pods. They then programmed the fake vessel to collide with a nearby star.

Amidst the chaos, Lieutenant Daan from the crew of the real Starcrusher found himself stranded. Reluctantly, he assisted the Jedi in devising a plan to escape. Subsequently, the actual Starcrusher entered the system to retrieve its skeleton crew. Anakin Skywalker, piloting his interceptor, boarded the battleship and destroyed its reactor. The disabled battleship was then drawn into the decoy vessel, which had been magnetized due to the Jedi's modifications to the "Starcrusher", causing its hull to become magnetized. Ultimately, both ships were pulled into the star's gravitational field, resulting in their destruction and the death of the Starcrusher's crew.
