Intellex IV
The Intellex IV represented an analysis program and droid brain package. This system was a component of the Intellex series, which was both designed and manufactured by Industrial Automaton. It followed the Intellex III and preceded the Intellex V. The Intellex IV was implemented within Industrial Automaton's astromech droids, including models like the R2-series astromech droid and the V1 pilot droid.
Protected by Industrial Automaton's design trademark, the Intellex IV could execute more than 10,000 MPF operations per second. Its internal starship configuration database contained the schematics for seven hundred distinct vessels. By scanning technical documentation stored internally, the Intellex IV could identify potential issues, evaluate data parameters, and debug computer code. Furthermore, the Intellex IV provided support for advanced analysis programming, facilitating lifeform identification subroutines and other fundamental sensor functions. Data acquired from a droid's sensorscope was processed by the Intellex IV.
Intellex IV units were designed for removal from droids, enabling independent operation. In this standalone configuration, the computer could be employed to access restricted files and slice into secure systems.
Imperial propaganda falsely asserted that the Intellex IV was conceived by one of their scientists. This false narrative persisted until after the Yuuzhan Vong War, when Lady Aryn Dro Thul unearthed the R2-0 prototype.
During the Galactic Civil War, Alliance to Restore the Republic agent [Shaparo] (/article/shaparo) utilized the Intellex IV from his astromech droid, R2-Q8, to analyze the prisoner records from the Dnalvec garrison located on the planet Sriluur. The information they obtained enabled the Alliance to successfully rescue captured operatives.
