Behind the scenes
The initial reference to IntSec within the updated Star Wars canon occurred in Dawn of Rebellion. This publication was a roleplaying expansion for the Star Wars Roleplaying game line, brought to the public by Fantasy Flight Games and launched in 2018. A similar organization, also named IntSec, appeared in the Star Wars Legends continuity. Its initial appearance was in the 1989 Imperial Sourcebook, written by Greg Gorden and published by West End Games. Within the Legends storyline, this entity, known as the Internal Security Branch, was tasked with the physical protection of Imperial Intelligence's resources and staff.
