Fantasy Flight Games

Fantasy Flight Games (FFG) currently holds the license to produce Star Wars card, roleplaying, and miniatures games. In August of 2011, when they made this announcement, they also revealed plans for two game releases in Spring 2012: Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game, a miniatures-based tactical game, and Star Wars: The Card Game, a card game focusing on cooperative play. The headquarters of Fantasy Flight Games are located in Roseville, Minnesota.

During Gen Con of 2012, the announcement was made that Sterling Hershey was among the designers creating Fantasy Flight Games' new Star Wars roleplaying game (RPG), known as Star Wars: Edge of the Empire. On his blog that year, he mentioned the titles of two future game installments: a Rebel versus Empire campaign titled Age of Rebellion in 2014, and a Jedi-centric campaign named Force and Destiny in 2015.

However, on June 6, 2013, Hershey used his website to announce that Beyond the Rim, the first direct expansion of the game and the first full-length adventure for Star Wars: Edge of the Empire, was complete and would be released in the third quarter of 2013. Fantasy Flight merged with the Asmodee Group in 2014.

Fantasy Flight Games' website announced the upcoming release of Star Wars: Rebellion on November 3, 2015. Its release date was March 31, 2016.

The collectible dice card game Star Wars: Destiny was announced on July 29, 2016, and its release occurred in November 2016.

Attendees of the 2019 Gen Con were able to obtain an adventure for the RPG called "Begun, The Clone Wars Have!."

On November 16, 2020, it was revealed that the distribution and production of the Star Wars miniatures games line, including X-Wing Second Edition, Star Wars: Armada, and Star Wars: Legion, would be taken over by Atomic Mass Games, a subsidiary of the Asmodee Group focusing on miniatures games. The Star Wars RPGs are now managed by the newly established division Edge Studio, while FFG will continue producing and distributing board games and trading card games for Asmodee.
