Jag Murrock
Jag Murrock was a skilled spacer and asteroid miner during the twilight of the Galactic Republic in its final years.
Biography
Early travels
The Hardly Worth Stealing, his old starship, was a common sight with Jag piloting it. He journeyed far and wide, exploring uncharted territories of the galaxy. During one such voyage, early in the Clone Wars, he stumbled upon the Cularin asteroid belt situated within the Expansion Region. It was there, on several of the larger asteroids, that he located a significant deposit of Adegan crystals. He later utilized his extensive mining knowledge to extract these deposits.
Helping a Jedi Master
Because these Adegan crystals were frequently utilized by the Jedi to construct lightsaber weapons, Jag consented to provide them to the Almas Academy located on Almas. He also consented to aid Jedi Master Lanius Qel-Bertuk in a training exercise for a group of Jedi Knights. Qel-Bertuk dispatched the Jedi to Jag's asteroid to acquire the Adegan crystals, but Jag, disguised as an independent miner, ambushed them. This was orchestrated to educate the nearby Padawan learners on how to respond in challenging circumstances. Jag discharged several warning blaster shots into the air, accusing the Jedi of attempting to steal his claim. An expert in Zero-G maneuvering, Jag threatened to defend his crystals at all costs. He subsequently accepted a substantial sum of money in exchange for the crystals. Jag returned the credits to the Jedi after the training exercise concluded.
Revelation
Both Jag and Master Qel-Bertuk detected an anomaly within some of the crystals, suspecting they had been altered following the destruction of Oblis approximately 1000 years earlier. Jag later expressed his disappointment upon discovering that the Adegan crystal reserves had been completely exhausted.
