Jake conducted a transaction, trading some old relics to Bwahl, who was a Hutt. Han Solo and Chewbacca were tasked by Bwahl with delivering the credits to Jake, however, the sum received was less than Jake anticipated. During an attack by Coway assailants on Solo and Chewbacca, Jake sustained injuries. Solo and Chewbacca then eliminated the remaining attackers.
Sometime Years after this incident, Jake attempted to woo Leia Organa, which resulted in a physical altercation with Luke Skywalker. The conflict was stopped, and those involved were taken into Imperial custody. Subsequently, Grammel caused the loss of one of Jake's eyes.
