The Januul constituted an Alwari overclan situated on Ansion. Their long-standing adversaries were the Borokii; up to the point of 22 BBY, they had been in conflict for multiple centuries to determine tribal seniority within the Alwari group. Their fighting force consisted of approximately one thousand trained warriors. The Hovsgol Januul represented a subclan within the Januul structure.
Governance of the Januul was conducted by the body known as the Januul Council of Elders.
