The Jashwik were a species of humanoids with orange skin and prominent jowls. They originated from the planet of Jashwa and shared a lineage with the Sullustans of Sullust. One notable Jashwik was Cody Sunn-Childe, who speculated that his kind might possess a natural affinity for Force-sensitive abilities.

Similar to their Sullustan relatives from Sullust, Jashwik were a humanoid species characterized by a body plan consisting of two arms, two legs, and a head. Their facial features included a mouth, nose, and two eyes, all positioned in a manner analogous to Humans. Their skin exhibited a peach-colored hue, and their mouths, distinguished by thick lips, contained blunt, white teeth. Their eyes were bulbous and egg-shaped, featuring a yellowish sclera and a small black pupil. Their arms terminated in hands equipped with four elongated, claw-like fingers, including an opposable thumb for enhanced grasping capabilities. In contrast to Sullustans, who possessed broad, rounded earlobes, Jashwik had tapered ears. Males of the species were capable of growing hair on their heads, cheeks, and chins. The Jashwik anatomy also included knees that bent forward, enabling them to sit upright on their buttocks. They would perspire during times of emotional distress to maintain a stable body temperature. There was speculation that the Jashwik species as a whole possessed an inherent, though latent, sensitivity to the Force, a mystical energy connecting all living things and binding the galaxy.
The Jashwik's homeworld was the planet of Jashwa. They shared a common ancestry with the Sullustans, a short Near-Humans species from Sullust, known for their similar facial jowls and small, beady eyes.
Cody Sunn-Childe was a prominent Jashwik, having served as the administrator of the Wheel space station during the Clone Wars, a hero within the Rebel Alliance, and even the mayor of his own extradimensional city.
The Jashwik made their debut appearance in Star Wars (1977) 46, the forty-sixth comic book in the Marvel Star Wars series, released on January 20, 1981. Cody Sunn-Childe, who was both introduced and killed off in that same issue, stands as the only known representative of this species within canon. In Star Wars 46, Sunn-Childe simply referred to the Jashwik as "my own race." The official species name remained unknown until 2013, when Abel G. Peña authored Viva Space Vegas! The History of the Marvelous Wheel for the official StarWars.com blog. In that same article, Peña also established the genetic connection between the Jashwik and the Sullustans, a jowled species that first appeared in the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
