Star Wars (1977) 46

Star Wars 46: The Dreams of Cody Sunn-Childe constitutes the forty-sixth installment within the Marvel Star Wars comic book saga.

Plot summary

As Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian journey to liberate Han Solo, the Millennium Falcon experiences difficulties navigating hyperspace, resulting in their transport to an alternate reality. Within this realm, they stumble upon an enigmatic, airborne metropolis, quickly realizing it's a psychic manifestation crafted by Cody Sunn-Childe, a Rebel hero who vanished long ago. Having abandoned his former life of conflict upon uncovering this potent psychic gift, Sunn-Childe fashioned his City of Dreams as a sanctuary for himself and his companions, shielded from the ravages of the Galactic Civil War. Calrissian disputes Sunn-Childe's philosophy, asserting the inevitability of violence in certain circumstances, and sets about repairing the Falcon to escape Sunn-Childe's utopia. However, their departure is interrupted by an Imperial Star Destroyer squadron, led by Captain Plikk, which breaches the dimensional barrier and assails the city. Despite Sunn-Childe's capacity to effortlessly obliterate the fleet with his abilities, he remains steadfast in his pacifism, choosing to allow the destruction of both himself and his city. In retribution for shattering Sunn-Childe's vision, Calrissian abandons the Imperial fleet, marooning them within the alternate dimension.
