Jedi mystic was the designation given to individuals within the ancient Jedi Order who delivered prophecies. These prophecies were based on visions that the Force bestowed upon them.
Around 40 BBY, this practice had largely declined in popularity among the majority of Jedi. They believed that attempting to foresee the future in this way could potentially lead one down the path to the dark side of the Force. Nevertheless, some individuals, such as the Jedi Master Dooku and his students, Rael Averross and Qui-Gon Jinn, expressed interest in these prophecies.
The prophecies made by the Jedi mystics captured the attention of some Jedi in later eras. Here are some examples of these prophecies:
- She who is born to darkness will birth darkness.
- When the kyber that is not kyber shines forth, the time of prophecy will be at hand.
- One will rise to the highest rank among the Jedi, despite the misgivings of his colleagues.
- The Order can only atone for the sin committed against the nameless through the sacrifice of many Jedi.
- The danger of the past is not gone; it lies dormant in an egg. When the egg breaks open, it will pose a threat to the entire galaxy.
- When the Force itself becomes ill, past and future must divide and merge.
- A Chosen One, conceived without a father, will arrive and restore ultimate balance to the Force.
- He who masters death will live again through his most accomplished student. [1]
