Jedi recruiter

A Jedi recruiter was not a popular figure within the Jedi Order throughout its existence. They were often the target of the anti-Jedi sentiment that occasionally troubled the citizens of the Galactic Republic, making them one of the least liked members.

Overview

Recruiters were typically retired Jedi investigators who had become Jedi Knights seeking to become a [Jedi Sentinel](/article/jedi_sentinel-legends]. They used their Force abilities of detection and tracking to find undiscovered Force-sensitives, representing a specialized area of study.

Recruiters, as members of the Acquisition Division, analyzed data from Republic medcenters and the Kyber memory crystal to locate potential candidates. During the Mandalorian Wars, some Jedi recruiters (especially those against the Jedi High Council's neutrality) secretly went to the war zones to aid the Republic military. During the New Sith Wars, they searched for Force-sensitives to bring into the Army of Light before the Sith could find them. Torr Snapit was one such recruiter.

To standardize the recruiters' actions and maintain order within the Jedi, the High Council mandated that all roles within the Order be formally defined and new regulations implemented. Following the Galactic Senate's approval of the Ruusan Reformation, Recruiter Morrit Ch'gally wrote the section on Enlisting New Members in The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force. This handbook was intended to attract Initiates and Padawans interested in using their investigative skills, and it also detailed the responsibilities of the Acquisition Division and its members.
