Jek Nkik, a Jawa from the male sex, was related to Het Nkik. Sandtroopers were responsible for his death.
The Nkiks were exploring their home planet of Tatooine when they came across the wreckage of an old, crashed freighter, prompting them to investigate the area more thoroughly. Inside, they discovered the burnt and tangled remains of an E522 assassin droid. Despite the droid appearing beyond repair, Jek and Het committed themselves to fixing it, secretly acquiring spare parts from the Jawa fortress storehouse to complete their endeavor. Wimateeka, the leader of their clan, grew suspicious of the two young Jawas' activities and kept a close watch on them, which only fueled the Nkiks' determination to succeed.
For months, Jek and Het toiled away in a secluded hideout in the badlands, meticulously assembling tiny components and servomotors until the assassin droid was finally restored to working order. The Jawas had removed all of the droid's hunter-seeker weapons and any programming that would cause violence, effectively neutralizing its murderous capabilities. The E522 functioned perfectly, but it was now little more than an extremely powerful messenger droid. Jet and Het Nkik proudly showed Wimateeka their accomplishment, but he reprimanded the boys for their foolishness, believing that no one would be interested in purchasing a reprogrammed assassin droid.
However, Jek and Het surprised themselves by successfully selling the repaired assassin droid to Lady Valarian, who was a rival of Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine. As a consequence of this sale, Jek and Het were forced to separate. In the two years following the sale of the assassin droid, Jek served as a scout in Chief Nebit's scouting party, which was led by Dathcha, during the search for R2-D2. Their Jawa clan was attacked by sandtroopers who destroyed the sandcrawler and killed all the Jawas onboard, including Jek Nkik. Het later sought to avenge his passing.
