However, Mon Mothma strongly opposed this, citing Comark's lack of experience in planetary administration. Consequently, Comark was relegated to a position within Renik, the counter-espionage division of Imperial Intelligence.
While serving in Renik, Comark began secretly allocating resources to his Death Hunter project. Distrusting the reliability of bounty hunters for the Galactic Empire's clandestine operations, Comark sought to create ideal assassins. To conceal his activities, Comark utilized Renikco, a company based on the planet Jaemus, as a front.
Ultimately, his clandestine project was exposed by Alliance operatives at his base located on Zeta Zero Nine. This exposure was due to information provided to the Alliance by Comark's own daughter, Amber. In the ensuing intense conflict, Alliance agents successfully liberated nearly all of the abducted humans. The facility was destroyed, and Moff Comark was presumed to have died in the resulting devastation.
