Jhordvar was a male Noghri assassin who, for a short time, was employed by the crime lord Jabba the Hutt during the Clone Wars. After Jhordvar attempted to double-cross Jabba, the Hutt put a bounty on the assassin's head, leading to him being tracked to his secret location in the Dune Sea of Tatooine by the youthful bounty hunter, Boba Fett. Following an intense confrontation, Fett killed the Noghri, subsequently retrieving Jhordvar's hands and ring to present to Jabba as proof for the bounty claim.
During the final years of the Galactic Republic, Jhordvar, a male Noghri, operated as an assassin. Amidst the galaxy-spanning conflict of the Clone Wars, Jhordvar briefly found employment under Jabba the Hutt, a crime lord active on the desert world of Tatooine. However, in 19 BBY, the Noghri's betrayal attempt against Jabba prompted the Hutt to contract Boba Fett, a young Mandalorian bounty hunter, to either capture or kill Jhordvar, who had sought refuge within the expansive Dune Sea on Tatooine.
Fett quickly located Jhordvar at his hidden base and offered him the opportunity to return to Jabba's Palace without resistance. The alien, however, declined to surrender to a mere "lackey" and met his end in a brief, yet fierce, battle. A sandstorm then marooned Fett at the hideout for several days, causing Jhordvar's corpse to be subjected to the elements, resulting in the mummified state of the assassin's remains and the severing of his hands. Fett only retrieved the hands as proof for Jabba, abandoning the rest of the body in the desert. Upon Fett's return, Bib Fortuna, Jabba's majordomo, identified Jhordvar by a ring found on one of the hands, leading to Fett receiving his bounty.
Despite being a skilled assassin, Jhordvar was ultimately outmatched and defeated by the youthful Boba Fett following an intense confrontation. Although Jhordvar underestimated Fett's capabilities, the young Mandalorian proved him wrong and held the defeated enemy in respect for his valiant effort. Jhordvar possessed a valuable gold-green amaralite ring, which later served as identification for Jhordvar's mummified hands and was subsequently gifted by Jabba to Fett as a bonus.
Boba Fett: A New Threat, a young adult novel penned by Elizabeth Hand, marked Jhordvar's initial appearance in 2004. In 2008, he was included in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. Five years later, Jhordvar received a mention in "So Uncivilized: Great Gunslingers in Star Wars, Part 1," a Star Wars Blog post. Edward M. Erdelac authored the article, referencing Jhordvar within the section dedicated to his killer, Boba Fett.
