Jim Current

Jim Current, a level designer, contributed his talents to a number of Star Wars video games. His employment at LucasArts commenced with Star Wars: Dark Forces, where he crafted various levels, including 11. Imperial City, Coruscant - The Imperial Mask. When designing the setting for the Imperial City, his approach involved determining methods to constrain the player's mobility within the scenario, while simultaneously creating the perception of only viewing a segment of an expansive city; to create an illusion of unseen areas, the artists added distant, inaccessible rooftops.

Subsequently, Current collaborated with the production group for Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. He partnered with Jon Knoles, who provided the fundamental level concepts, and together they determined the placement of actions and puzzles. Current utilized AutoCAD to construct the levels.
