The jizz-box functioned as a musical instrument. On the planet Nim Drovis in 13 ABY, the protocol droid C-3PO, who was marooned there, tried out to play music at a cantina known as the Wookiee's Codpiece. C-3PO's performance consisted of replaying tunes from his memory core using his vocabulator. However, the assistant manager of the cantina turned the droid down, stating that he sounded like a putrid jizz-box and that the Codpiece already had one to provide music.
The term jizz-box appeared in Planet of Twilight, a novel written by Barbara Hambly and published in 1997.
