Joonas Suotamo

Joonas Suotamo, born on October 3, 1986, is an actor and basketball player. He served as the body double for Peter Mayhew for the character of Chewbacca in the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Following this, he took over the role of Chewbacca from Peter Mayhew in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and he also portrayed Chewbacca in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Although he was replaced, Peter Mayhew received credit as a consultant for Chewbacca in The Last Jedi.

He once again played Chewbacca in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.

Born on October 3, 1986, Joonas Suotamo is an actor and also a basketball player. He initially worked as the body double for Peter Mayhew as the character Chewbacca in the film titled Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Subsequently, he took over the Chewbacca role from Peter Mayhew in the movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Furthermore, he played the same role in Solo: A Star Wars Story. In The Last Jedi, Peter Mayhew received acknowledgement as a Chewbacca consultant.

He later returned to the role of Chewbacca for Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.
