Jorin Sol was a young male Human mathematician. In the early stages of the Galactic Civil War, he served the Rebellion.
Sol accompanied Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker on a diplomatic mission to the world of Jabiim in 0 ABY. After the team was caught in a battle between the Galactic Empire and the local resistance fighters, Sol became separated. With the assistance of the traitor Tal Hesz, he was captured by Imperial forces.
Sol was subsequently transported to Kalist VI, where Lieutenant Zuud subjected him to interrogation and torture. Zuud sought to discover the location of the Rebel fleet and Skywalker. A Rebel team executed a daring rescue operation, successfully freeing Sol and the enslaved inhabitants of Jabiim. Unbeknownst to the Rebellion, Jorin Sol had been brainwashed to become an Imperial spy. He was now among the Rebel fleet with a specific objective: "Destroy the Rebellion from the inside." He began experiencing episodes of involuntary action, carrying out the Empire's plans while fully aware of his actions, resulting in a constant internal struggle.
After being cleared to return to his duties, Sol entered the bridge of his ship and opened fire, killing everyone including Leia Organa. Overcome with horror, he informed Luke Skywalker that the Empire was approaching. While Janek Sunber confronted Luke, Jorin desperately urged Tungo Li to order the Rebel fleet to retreat. He then saved Tungo Li from a near-fatal situation. When Wedge Antilles contacted the command ship to initiate a jump to hyperspace, Jorin leaped down to reach the command console. He successfully executed a jump to hyperspace, engulfed in flames, before perishing in an explosion moments later.
