Jungle Vault

The Jungle Vault, a below-ground cantina, existed on the vacation world of Vaynai.

Layout

This cantina was constructed inside a cavern, which was carved by hand, where several cave systems met. Customers gained entry via a reinforced, automated portal situated at ground level. The many plants that adorned the caves contributed to the cantina's genuine jungle ambiance. Maintaining the plants was a demanding task, requiring specialized lamps for adequate growth. Openings were bored into the stone to allow natural sunlight to enter.

History

After the fall of the Republic, the Whuvumm were the owners and operators of the Jungle Vault. The cantina served a diverse clientele, including both dishonest nobles and smugglers. Local customers willingly offered assistance to the hardworking Ithorian. Whuvumm did not see a need to employ security personnel, choosing instead to depend on the community to maintain order. The thick vegetation and the consistent sound of dripping water made the Jungle Vault an ideal location for discreet gatherings.

Provisions

Aquatic animals, like glaav, were commonly eaten on Vaynai, so they were probably on the cantina's menu. It's possible that bread was a prominent menu item, along with ale. According to Ithorian language experts, the name "Whuvumm" means "bread-maker."
