Kaini

Kaini was a Rebel Alliance operative, specifically a Human female, whose role involved coordinating the collection of data storage media. These were then secretly transported by the racing pilot Siro Simito. On one occasion, she disguised herself as a holovid reporter, intentionally irritating Simito just before the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade competition commenced on Dahvil. Simito, feigning anger at her persistent questions, severed the lens of Kaini's cam droid, an action that allowed him to discreetly acquire the data module he was tasked with delivering.

Biography

Kaini organized secret information deliveries by the racing pilot Siro Simito (pictured).

Kaini served as an agent within the ranks of the Rebel Alliance. During the era of the Galactic Civil War, her duties centered around facilitating the covert transfer of sensitive information to Rebel contacts. This was achieved through the agency of the interstellar racing pilot Siro Simito, with Kaini arranging for him to collect data storage media in a manner that appeared public and unremarkable.

In one particular instance, preceding the commencement of the renowned Star Rally event known as the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade, Kaini adopted the persona of a holovid reporter hailing from the Mid Rim world Ord Dorlass, which served as the race's initial waypoint. She positioned herself in the race's staging area on the Outer Rim Territories' world of Dahvil. Accompanying her was a cam droid, its supertelephoto lens concealing the data module intended for delivery to the world of Fait d'Fait.

Following a pre-arranged sequence known to Simito, Kaini and the droid approached the racer as he navigated through the assembled crowd, intentionally thrusting their equipment into his immediate vicinity. The purported reporter proceeded to inquire about the status of Simito's ongoing rivalry with Seeg, a line of questioning the racer pretended to find irritating. Upon Kaini's persistence in pressing the matter of Simito's competitor, Simito, acting in concert with Kaini's undercover operation, dramatically severed the cam droid's lens using his vibro-ax. The supposed holovid crew then promptly fled the scene, with Simito's outburst met with cheers from the gathered crowd, who, despite their reliance on holovids for race updates, held a general dislike for reporters.

Subsequently, Simito retrieved the severed lens and proceeded to execute the planned delivery. He later documented his activities during that particular race, acknowledging Kaini's successful execution of the hand-off. Sometime shortly after the Battle of Yavin, General Airen Cracken of the Rebel Alliance incorporated excerpts from Simito's report, including the description of Kaini's role, into a datafile detailing various Rebel operatives.
