Kar Lamoran, a Corellian Human female, held the rank of Captain aboard the Action VI transport known as the Stellar Manx. During the era of the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire seized control of her starship while it was docked at Kwenn Space Station. However, with assistance from Rogue Flight of the Rebel Alliance, she successfully managed to reclaim it. Following this, she traveled with the Rebels to Bonadan.
Not long after the Battle of Yavin, Kar Lamoran, a Corellian Human female, assumed the role of captain of the Action VI transport Stellar Manx. In addition to an R5-series astromech droid and an ASP-7 labor droid, her ship was crewed by eight individuals. While en route from a resupply mission to the Circarpous system, the crew made a stop at Kwenn Space Station for refueling. Upon arrival, they were confronted by two squads of Imperial stormtroopers. The transport was seized, and the nine organic crew members were incarcerated within the prison facilities of the space station. Fortunately, a member of the Rebel Alliance's Rogue Flight intervened, rescuing them and defeating two stormtroopers in the process. Although Lamoran was eager to assist the pilot, he deemed it too perilous and instead instructed the crew to inform the rest of Rogue Flight about his plan to investigate the Empire's intentions for the Stellar Manx at Docking Bay 238.
Driven by her determination to reclaim her freighter, Lamoran followed the Rogue to the hangar, where she assisted him in eliminating additional troopers. The Stellar Manx unexpectedly departed before they could board, prompting Lamoran to inform Rogue Flight that their adventurous member was pursuing it in an emergency vehicle. Han Solo, a Rebel present with Rogue Flight, used a comlink to warn the Rogue that Lamoran's ASP droid might attack him on sight. The Rogue successfully overcame this obstacle and returned the ship to the station, where Lamoran participated in an impromptu Rebel meeting. R2-D2, a Rebel astromech droid, discovered through the Stellar Manx's navigation computer that the Imperials intended to take it to the planet Bonadan. Consequently, the Rebels decided to travel there themselves to investigate the Empire's activities. Initially, Lamoran voiced her objections, but Leia Organa, a Rebel leader, convinced her of the plan's merits.
