Commander Karg, a Human male, held the position of an Imperial officer in the time leading up to the Battle of Yavin.
He asserted that his father had been an admiral within the Imperial Navy during the era of the Galactic Civil War. In 0 BBY, Darth Vader instructed Karg to locate the Tantive IV following the apprehension of Princess Leia Organa. Upon arriving on the planet Kattada with the intention of arresting Leia and Mia Ikova, he narrowly avoided death due to fire from the Tantive IV's turbolasers, resulting in severe wounds. Leia brought Karg aboard the Tantive IV to provide medical care for his injuries. A few hours later, and just a few minutes following Mia Ikova's passing, Karg succumbed to his significant wounds.
