Kass Tod

Kass Tod, a Zabrak female, held the rank of Padawan within the ranks of the Jedi Order. She also served as a Commander for the Galactic Republic in the Grand Army of the Republic during the tumultuous period known as the Clone Wars.

Biography

During the Separatist Crisis, Kass Tod, a Force-sensitive Zabrak, received training in the Force from the Jedi Order. Selected to become a Padawan, Tod constructed a lightsaber with a green blade, which she employed in combat. As the Clone Wars began between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Tod rose to the position of Commander in the Grand Army of the Republic. Along with her Jedi Master, Tod was dispatched to the planet of Jabiim to support other Jedi in a protracted battle against the Confederacy-supported Jabiimi Nationalists.

Tragically, Tod's Master was killed during the conflict, and Obi-Wan Kenobi assumed command. He instructed her small unit to remain behind the main battle line until the Republic forces could seize the primary weapons emplacement of the Jabiimi Military. Tod, along with other apprentices who had lost their masters, became known as a member of the Padawan Pack. General Kenobi tasked Tod with ambushing the retreating enemy soldiers as they fled along the flanks of the main Republic column. After being separated from her group in the aftermath of the battle, Tod eventually reunited with the other Padawans as they headed towards the main Grand Army outpost. During the fighting, Tod developed strong feelings for fellow Padawan Mak Lotor, and they entered into a forbidden romance, violating the tenets of the Jedi Code.

As the Padawan Pack attempted to reach the main Republic outpost, they engaged in direct combat with Alto Stratus, the leader of the Jabiimi Nationalists. After four days of fighting alongside Lotor, they finally managed to corner Stratus. Tod, wielding her lightsaber, severed Stratus' right leg, leaving him crippled and near death. Before she could deliver the final blow, a Hailfire droid launched its rockets at the weary Jedi. Unable to deflect the incoming missiles due to exhaustion, Tod embraced the wounded Lotor, choosing to face death together in peace. They were both killed in the resulting explosion.
