Kessarine were a species possessing sentience. In this species, the females, who were also egg bearers, possessed a single tail, whereas the males had multiple tails. In addition to this distinction, they also exhibited cheek frills, a double set of eyelids, and webbed digits. The language known as Galactic Basic lacked precise terms to define their genders; however, upon reaching maturity, a child's inherent will influenced their development into an egg bearer. Typically, within a group of five offspring, approximately two would eventually mature into egg bearers.
Originally, this species began as amphibious creatures, but they subsequently lost this characteristic and were unable to respire underwater. Furthermore, they needed less sleep than the majority of sentient species.
