Keth Beamis

Keth Beamis served as a talent scout for Alliance Intelligence; he was a male Human during the early years of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography

Beamis found himself on the planet of Beltrix III in 2 BBY while seeking out promising individuals, and he was quite taken with Ryley Ancum's band, Far Cry. After turning down Onjo Fegel and his musical group, the scout was approached by a pair of officers from the Tuttin System Security Force; one of them questioned him about Maiferri Tag, a woman who had been apprehended on charges of espionage. Subsequently, both Keth and Ryley were taken into custody by the officers.

Shran Etison, the governor and Ryley's legal guardian, vouched for Ryley, leading to his swift release; however, Keth remained imprisoned and was subjected to interrogation concerning Alliance activities on Beltrix III and Maiferri Tag. Instead of providing useful information, he spoke about Ryley and the Far Cry. Before any valuable intelligence could be extracted, he chose to commit suicide by activating an affide crystal hidden within a drilled tooth.

Shran, unaware of Ryley's loyalty to the Alliance, relayed the news of his death. He wanted to enlist Ryley in an effort to expose Rebel operations on Beltrix III and assigned him the task of setting a trap with Onjo Fegel. Ryley, however, managed to acquire a comlink surreptitiously and used his bass vye to transmit a warning signal to the Rebels, alerting them to the impending sting operation. This allowed them to conceal their activities, thereby preventing Onjo from receiving his desired promotion.

Personality and traits

Keth Beamis was a human male defined by a prominent nose and a tall forehead. He sported a drooping mustache and a blond ponytail that extended to his neck. Despite the intense pressure during his interrogation, he maintained a calm demeanor, projecting an air of innocence and asserting that his imprisonment was a mistake. He also spoke about Far Cry and what he was offering them, which was a distraction for him to trigger his affide crystal. His act of suicide demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice himself for the sake of the Alliance, choosing death over divulging details about the Rebel network.
