Kidd Kareen was a male Rutian Twi'lek podracing pilot who lived through the era of the Clone Wars.
Inspired by Anakin Skywalker, who had achieved victory in the Boonta Eve Classic at the young age of nine, Kidd Kareen's parents started his podracing training even before he could walk. He traveled the galaxy with the podracing circuit and created an incredibly successful racing team with San Maxus. In the year 22 BBY, he encountered Ahsoka Tano who was working undercover as a fellow podracer, as she was trying to locate a Separatist agent in possession of a highly classified Republic data file. Following one of his races, he met with her and the two discovered a mutual attraction. He lent her a podracer for the big race, and before she left to go to his team, he gave Ahsoka a kiss on the cheek for good luck.
After consulting with Dooku, Maxus revealed that he was a Separatist agent and exposed Ahsoka's true identity to Kareen: she was a Jedi. During the final race on Mon Gazza, Kareen faced a difficult choice: assist Ahsoka or remain loyal to Maxus, who intended to kill her. He chose to help Ahsoka when Maxus destroyed her podracer, and together they caught up to Maxus. Upon arriving, Ahsoka and Kareen found themselves confronted by Asajj Ventress, who had arrived to meet Maxus to retrieve the stolen Republic data file. However, before Maxus could transfer the Republic datafile, Anakin used the Force crushing to destroy the file.
Following this, Kareen and Ahsoka went their separate ways. Kareen extended an offer for Ahsoka to join his team, but she declined due to her obligations to the Jedi Order. After Ahsoka mentioned her master's last name, Kareen realized who Anakin was, and challenged him to a friendly race sometime after the war ended. Anakin went back into the Twilight, and before Ahsoka left he kissed her hand.
Kareen's skin was blue and had teal-colored spots on his Lekku.
