San Maxus, a male Devaronian podracer, participated in a race against Ahsoka Tano at the Mon Gazza Maze during the era of the Clone Wars. Known to Dooku as Agent Sixteen, he also functioned as a Separatist spy.
Having obtained a Republic datachip from Messo, who was aligned with the Separatist cause, San Maxus sought to deliver it to Asajj Ventress, Dooku's operative, in exchange for payment. In the Skeleton Straits section of the race, San found himself in a three-way podracer conflict involving Ahsoka Tano and Kidd Kareen. Ventress materialized on San's podracer to retrieve the data file, but Ahsoka intervened, engaging her in combat with her lightsaber, while Anakin Skywalker used the Force crushed to destroy the datachip. San's situation became dire when Ahsoka bisected his podracer while it was airborne. Despite the crash of the remaining section, San survived, with Kidd Kareen indicating that he had "retired," implying he was still alive.
