The stories say that Kreth served as an engineer aboard a star-faring galleon, which took part in a competition aimed at charting a secure course to the legendary planet of Batuu. While engaged in the competition, pirates assaulted his vessel, but he successfully found refuge concealed behind a detached section of the wall. He was eventually saved by the Ravenstar, who offered him a position among their ranks; his talents as an engineer were invaluable in their journey to Batuu.
