The Kumauri Empire, a dominion encompassing several dozen star systems, was founded by the warlord Vall Kumauri circa 10,000 BBY. At that time, it existed on what constituted the rimward frontier of the then-existing Galactic Republic.
Though its existence was brief, as the Galactic Republic swiftly annexed it, the Kumauri Empire left behind a lasting impact. This impact manifested in the form of formidable capital ships designed for planetary bombardment, collectively known as the Kumauri Battleship. The final iteration in this line was the Cal-class battleship, a vessel measuring three kilometers in length. These warships primarily utilized mass drivers capable of hurling asteroids toward surface targets, a capability that became outdated only with the advent of reliable planetary shields.
