The bounty hunter known as Zam Wesell wielded a pistol of this kind during a chase involving the Jedi figures Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. When he leapt onto the top of her Koro-2 all-environment Exodrive airspeeder, she fired at Skywalker, leading to his lightsaber being dropped. He then struggled with Wesell, grabbing the arm that held the gun, which resulted in her accidentally shooting the speeder's controls. Consequently, the vessel spiraled uncontrollably down into the depths of the Coruscant Underworld.
