Kylbar was a male Mon Calamari from the Legends continuity, and he functioned as an assistant to Admiral Ackbar throughout the Galactic Civil War.
Serving as an aide to Admiral Ackbar, Kylbar carried out his duties on the cruiser known as Home One. In the year 3 ABY, a team of Alliance operatives brought the young Caeleb to Home One, where Kylbar, acting for Ackbar, received their report. Following this, Kylbar assumed responsibility for the child, informing the agents that Mon Mothma, who led the Alliance, had made arrangements for Caeleb's relocation to a secure location.
After a period of four months, Thaum Rystra, a Dark Jedi, journeyed to the location where Kylbar and Caeleb were residing. Rystra employed a mind trick, manipulating Kylbar into believing that he was Luke Skywalker, and subsequently abducted the child. Caeleb was eventually saved and brought back to the Rebel fleet, where Kylbar once more took charge of the boy's care.
