Publisher's summary
As depicted in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, the war is reaching a critical juncture, with the relentless Separatist forces persistently attacking the struggling Republic. The sinister trio of Count Dooku, General Grievous, and their master, Darth Sidious, are refining their plan for complete domination. The destinies of pivotal characters on both sides will be determined in Episode III Revenge of the Sith. However, before that climactic moment, essential events that set the stage occur within a labyrinth of evil....
The mission to capture Trade Federation Viceroy—and Separatist Councilmember—Nute Gunray leads Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, accompanied by a clone squad, to Neimoidia. However, the treacherous Sith ally proves elusive, evading the Jedi even as they narrowly escape fatal danger. Despite these challenges, their courageous efforts yield a valuable discovery: a unique holotransceiver containing information that could guide the Republic forces to their ultimate target, the elusive Darth Sidious.
Anakin and Obi-Wan quickly embark on a pursuit, following leads from the droid factories of Charros IV to distant worlds in the Outer Rim. Each step brings them closer to identifying the location of the Sith Lord, whom they suspect is manipulating the Separatist rebellion. Yet, in this escalating galaxy-wide game of strikes, counterstrikes, ambushes, sabotage, and retaliations, Sidious consistently maintains the upper hand.
The trail then takes an unexpected turn, as Sidious and his followers initiate a meticulously planned campaign to divide and overwhelm the Jedi forces, aiming to bring the Republic to its downfall.
