Laminasteel, alternatively written as Lamina Steel, was a greenish hued alloy suitable for use in the creation of lightsabers. During 14 BBY, Cal Kestis, the escaped Jedi Padawan, managed to obtain a sufficient quantity of lamina steel to construct a lightsaber hilt.
Within established Star Wars canon, the initial mention of laminasteel occurred in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Rebel Files, authored by Daniel Wallace. Conversely, within the Star Wars Legends continuity, laminasteel was initially referenced in The Art of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, a 2002 reference book penned by Mark Cotta Vaz. The material's inaugural complete appearance transpired in "The Droid Deception," a comic narrative featured in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Comic 6.4. Robin Etherington wrote the story, Andres Ponce provided the illustrations, and it was released on February 4, 2010.
