Around 2 ABY, she became an ally of the Rebel Alliance, assisting them in establishing a covert base on Rabaan's moon, known as Combat Moon. Immediately before Streev's ritual combat with the S'krrr warrior Sh'shak, she attempted to sway him towards the Rebel cause against the Galactic Empire, but he refused. During the ritual combat, Imperial stormtroopers under the command of Modigal Glave tried to interfere, intending to instigate a war between Rabaan and the S'krrr. However, Kyss and her Rebel allies intervened, thwarting the schemes of Imperial Governor Klime. In the chaos of the attack, Glave sought to complete his mission by assassinating Sh'shak, but Kyss gave her life to protect the S'krrr warrior and avert a full-scale war.

She developed a passion for piloting freighters, which allowed her to explore the vastness of the galaxy.
Her travels exposed her to the Galactic Empire's efforts to eradicate any trace of the Rebel Alliance, indoctrinate the population, and suppress all forms of resistance. She ultimately aided a small group of Rebels in escaping an Imperial starport, and they successfully recruited her into the Rebel Alliance.
Her journeys frequently led her to the Circarpous system, where she would connect with members of a resistance cell. Around 2 ABY, she played a crucial role in establishing a secret Rebel base on Rabaan's Combat Moon. Coincidentally, around the same time, a Rabaan orbital station was destroyed, escalating tensions between the Rabaanites and their neighbors, the S'krrr. Her friend, Streev, was chosen to engage in ritual combat with a S'krrr warrior to resolve the escalating conflict on the Combat Moon. Kyss volunteered to transport her friend to the moon.
On their way to the moon, Kyss attempted to enlighten Streev about the broader galaxy and the injustices perpetrated by the Empire. However, he remained deliberately ignorant of the galaxy and was too preoccupied with the impending duel to heed her words.
After dropping him off, she proceeded to the Rebel base, where she met with the leading X-wing starfighter pilot. The Rebel group, which included Sanna, a Givin, and two Bothans, monitored Streev's progress as he encountered a squad of stormtroopers dispatched to assassinate him and ignite a war. When Streev and the S'krrr warrior Sh'shak found themselves overwhelmed, she grabbed a blaster and rushed to their assistance. She helped fend off the Imperials long enough for Sh'shak to assemble a comlink to broadcast a warning to both planets, alerting them to the Imperial plot to instigate a war in the system. However, the Empire jammed the signal.
Ultimately, Streev, Sh'shak, and Kyss were outnumbered and surrounded by the forces of Commander [Modigal Glave](/article/modigal_glave]. However, the remaining Rebels intervened, exposing their secret base in the process. The X-wing obliterated the Imperial ships in the vicinity, while the other Rebels charged forward, weapons blazing. Glave made a final attempt to assassinate Sh'shak, but Kyss threw herself in front of the S'krrr warrior, saving his life at the cost of her own.
