Leeni was a wokling of the female gender, existing in the era surrounding the Battle of Endor. Her moniker was inspired by a spirit within Ewok folklore. As one of the younger Ewoks, she participated in a swimming excursion led by Wicket and Kneesaa while the more experienced Ewoks concealed sunberry trees from the Mantigrue; furthermore, she was among those to whom Chief Chirpa recounted the tale of Logray, Morag and the Sunstar.
Leeni's initial introduction occurred as one of six 8-inch stuffed wokling toys manufactured by Kenner as a component of their Return of the Jedi toy collection. Her initial fictional representation was as a non-speaking, secondary character within the Ewoks animated television program.
Her designation is exclusively present on a Nelvana animated character design document, corresponding to a figure within the assembly of youthful Ewoks featured in the episodes "The Haunted Village" and, subsequently, "Sunstar vs. Shadowstone." Additionally, the reference work Star Wars Encyclopedia acknowledges her as a character originating from the animated series.
