Lidek Baws, originally from Naboo, became a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic after being recruited. His assignment was within their recruitment section, with his base of operations on Tatooine. Unbeknownst to the Alliance, he served as a spy for the Galactic Empire, providing them with intelligence about Alliance smugglers. Hantor Loftus discovered this information breach and dispatched a spacer to eliminate Baws and his superiors in the Tatooine desert.
