Life-jet

A life-jet was essentially a compact harness, often designed like a vest. It featured a small repulsorlift engine, allowing the user to move across short spans within an atmospheric setting. These life-jets were commonly found in emergency containers along the boundaries of Cloud City on Bespin, a world classified as a gas giant. Their purpose was to provide a means of rescue if someone happened to fall from the suspended platforms. Following the Battle of Yavin by Three years, the cyborg Lobot found it necessary to employ a life-jet. This was to rescue his companion, Lando Calrissian, after he was pushed over the edge of the city by Captain Hugo Treece, the Imperial administrator.
