The Lightspring, an area of profound tranquility and breathtaking beauty, existed far from civilization. It was situated in the most remote and forbidding parts of Tatooine, specifically within the Dune Sea. This region, avoided by both travelers and hunters, was composed of a vast cavern. Inside were enormous water basins, illuminated by an unusual light source emanating from beneath. This underwater illumination projected undulating shadows and shimmering reflections onto the cavern walls. The Sand People, native to the land, regarded the Lightspring area as sacred ground, forbidding any disruption or pollution of it.
During the era of the Cold War, which took place between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, the sacred nature of this location was violated. The crime lord Diago Hixan seized the Lightspring, declaring it the headquarters of his criminal empire. While in control, he introduced countless items from his collection into the Lightspring cavern, transforming the once-untouched landmark into a repository for his accumulated possessions.
A smuggler captain's pursuit during the search for Nok Drayen's treasure brought them to Hixan's sanctuary in pursuit of an artifact, and the confrontation that followed resulted in the crime lord's demise.
