Line Lieutenant was a designation employed by the Empire of the Hand. The Imperial stormtrooper Dramos Sanjin bore this title in 8 ABY. Sanjin served on the Admonitor, an _Imperial I_-class Star Destroyer. During that year, he took part in a battle on the Unknown Regions planet Quethold. The battle pitted Imperial troops against the forces of Storm-hair Warlord Nuso Esva. In this engagement, Sanjin commanded three stormtrooper squadrons, and the battle concluded with Esva's loss.
The novella Crisis of Faith featured a Line Lieutenant. Timothy Zahn wrote the novella, which was released in 2011 as a component of the 20th Anniversary Edition of the 1991 novel Heir to the Empire.
