KR20 listening post was a structure erected by the General Yiv the Benevolent and his [Nikardun Destiny](/article/nikardun_destiny], as a listening post. The construction was initially prompted by the directives of "Jixtus," an operative working for the Grysk Hegemony. Subsequent to the Benevolent's defeat, Jixtus proceeded to kill all Nikardun present on the post, repurposing the location into a shipyard.
In the course of the Mission to the Vak Combine, Picket Force Six embarked on a Mission directed towards the listening post, with the expectation of locating the last remaining Nikardun fleet. Instead, they discovered nine wrecked Nikardun vessels. Personnel from the Chiss Ascendancy scrutinized and documented the bodies of the Nikardun found there. Senior Captain Irizi'in'daro, along with other Chiss officers, obliterated it and KR21 during their hunting of the Nikardun Destiny's surviving elements.
The initial depiction of KR20 occurred within the 2021 novel titled Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good, which represents the second installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy. Its identification by name took place in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil.
