Lithoporoite, a type of ore, was located on the planet of Shu-Torun. During the events of the War on Shu-Torun, the Sith Lord Darth Vader was aboard a combat drill when it was intentionally diverted from the Shu-Torun Loyalist/Imperial Delving Fleet and plunged into a deposit of lithoporoite. This act of sabotage was orchestrated by Doctor Cylo, who was thought to be an ally. The drill descended through the lithoporoite into an underground cavern, where Vader and his forces were met with an ambush by soldiers loyal to the rebellious ore-dukes. Chamberlain Jooli informed the loyalist Queen Trios about the drill's unexpected path into the lithoporoite deposit. Queen Trios, aware that lithoporoite was too weak to support the weight of the drill, believed that Vader and his troops had perished. Despite these circumstances, the Sith survived, eventually guiding the drill out of the lithoporoite and back to the fleet.
The first appearance of lithoporoite was in Darth Vader (2015) 18, a comic book published in 2016. Kieron Gillen wrote the story, and Salvador Larroca created the illustrations.
