Biography

Hailing from the planet of Mantooine, Loom Carplin was a male Human. As a founding member of the Mantooine Liberators, Carplin emerged as the highest-ranking survivor of this resistance group after it was crushed by the Imperial forces. Following Travia Chan's act of merging the Fest Resistance Group with the remaining members of the Liberators, the Atrivis Resistance Group was formed. This group eventually evolved into the Atrivis Sector Force under the banner of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and Carplin took on the role of Chan's Chief of Staff. Due to medical issues that required her to use a repulsorchair, Carplin acted as Chan's representative, frequently traveling throughout the sector and even taking command of important missions. Busurra, a Wookiee, assisted Carplin, stepping in when the latter was away from base on assignments.

Behind the scenes

The character of Loom Carplin was originally created for The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook published by West End Games. The novel The Last Command, which came out later, mentioned that the Rebels were successful in "sneak[ing] Travia Chan and her people out from under the Imperials' collective snout." This likely meant that both Carplin and Busurra were included in that escape.
