Busurra


A male Wookiee named Busurra became a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic operating within the Atrivis sector. He proved to be a competent administrator, serving as an assistant to the sector's Chief of Staff and frequently filling in as acting Chief of Staff. Despite enduring torture at the hands of the Galactic Empire, Busurra maintained a gentle disposition.

Biography

Busurra was a male Wookiee. He was once captured by the Galactic Empire and subjected to torture, resulting in the loss of sight in his right eye and the amputation of three fingers on his left hand. He concealed his missing eye with an eye patch. After enlisting with the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Busurra became an aide to Loom Carplin, who was the Chief of Staff for the Atrivis Sector Force. Their base of operations was on Generis, the headquarters for the sector forces. However, Carplin was frequently off-world, inspecting various outposts within the sector. During these absences, Busurra took on the responsibilities of acting Chief of Staff, providing support to Commander-in-Chief Travia Chan.

Personality and traits

Contrary to the fierce reputation of his species and the physical trauma inflicted by the Imperials, Busurra possessed a kind and gentle nature. He excelled as an administrator and organizer, a role facilitated by his protocol droid, C3-L1, who translated his Wookiee speech for the benefit of the many Humans who had difficulty understanding him.

Skills and abilities

Busurra had combat skills, trained to handle a standard blaster and a bowcaster, in addition to larger blaster artillery systems. He was also proficient in unarmed combat. Busurra possessed extensive knowledge of various alien species, their cultures, and languages, as well as information about numerous planetary systems. As a skilled administrator, Busurra had a comprehensive understanding of bureaucracy. He received training in navigating starships through hyperspace and was capable of flying space transports and operating repulsorlift vehicles.

Busurra had training in operating starship weapon systems and deflector shields. He was also skilled at repairing space transports. Busurra was also trained in survival techniques, demolition procedures, bypassing security systems, and administering first aid.

Equipment

Busurra owned a bowcaster, the traditional weapon of the Wookiee people, which he used with expertise. He also carried a comlink and owned C3-L1, a protocol droid.

Behind the scenes

Busurra was first introduced in the 1990 Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, a publication of West End Games. His name was then used in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds as one of the AI leaders for players using the Wookiee faction, but only in the standard game mode.
