Loranda served as the parent of Hetton; however, she remained unaware of her child's inherent connection to the Force until he reached his third decade of life. Subsequently, she employed Gula Dwan, a Duros operating as a bounty hunter, to provide her son with instruction in utilizing his Force-sensitivity. Due to her family's substantial affluence, Loranda was capable of compensating Dwan handsomely. However, upon terminating Dwan's services, she recognized the danger he posed to their concealed knowledge, leading her to instruct Hetton to kill him.
Over time, Loranda developed an appreciation for the dark side, mirroring her son's inclination, and pressed him to enlist in the Brotherhood of Darkness. When Hetton declined, Loranda resolved to disclose his abilities to the Brotherhood regardless. Anticipating this action, Hetton preemptively ended her life by administering poison while she slept.
Subsequently, Hetton commemorated her by bestowing her name upon his starship.
