To keep its whereabouts a secret, the airfield was concealed within the planet's remote wilderness. In the year 1 BBY, the TIE/D Defender Elite was scheduled for a trial run at this location, but rebels Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger stole the fighter; their original aim was to only abscond with its flight data recorder.
