The LS-150 Heavy Accelerated Charged Particle Repeater Gun, also known as the Heavy ACP Repeater, was a sizable, air-cooled repeating weapon that utilized disintegrating plasma cartridges.
Frequently observed in the possession of Trandoshan Elites, the LS-150 offered somewhat better portability compared to a starship turret. Arakyd Industries was the manufacturer of this weapon (along with other firearms like the Accelerated Charged Particle Repeater Gun, which was essentially the Heavy Repeater's smaller version). The LS-150 employed a 200-round magazine, consuming ammunition at a rapid pace. These ammunition packs were substantial and cumbersome, typically allowing a standard Human to carry only a single spare.
Although ACP weapons typically demonstrated limited efficacy against armored droids, the LS-150's sheer firepower and rapid firing rate enabled it to be effective against heavily armored units such as a Super Battle Droid or large groups of B1-series battle droids. Furthermore, it could inflict devastating damage upon living targets, such as Humans and Trandoshans, causing swift fatalities or severe injuries.
For engagements at close quarters, it featured a bayonet for stabbing adversaries directly ahead, as demonstrated when a heavily armed mercenary used it to overpower a clone trooper aboard the Prosecutor. It possessed a reasonably effective range but was notably heavy and unwieldy for a personal weapon. This bulk was a tradeoff for its significant power in both ranged combat and melee, which explains why highly skilled individuals, such as the Trandoshan heavy mercenary, were its primary users. Its considerable weight often caused balance problems for human carriers, hindering their ability to run effectively.
During the era of the Clone Wars, Trandoshan mercenaries and those involved in the slave trade made use of these weapons.
