Doctor Lucien, a Human technician employed by Imperial Intelligence, was assigned to the Tech branch of the Analysis Bureau. He and Dr. Tobias shared the conviction that 3PO-series protocol droids, with some alterations, could function effectively as infiltration units. Soon after the Battle of Yavin, they put their theory into practice by infiltrating the Rebel Alliance with droids that had been sabotaged. These droids were ultimately placed aboard the Alliance Intelligence flagship, the Shadow Raptor, where they instigated a revolt. Alliance personnel traced the origin of the droids to Teagan, where Imperial Intelligence was conducting operations from a Kwymar Automation Ltd. storage facility. Upon the arrival of the Alliance team, the engineers withdrew.
