This scout craft was a ship that could be legally owned by civilians and possessed significant firepower.

The ship's construction mirrored the style of larger Corellian gunships found throughout the galaxy, though it was smaller than the DP20 frigate, which itself was smaller than the CR90 corvette. It featured a trio of engines. Similar to other Corellian gunships, its front section consisted of a singular, forward-projecting pod.

Despite its reduced size, the ship was still quite well-armed, boasting seven remotely operated cannons. These included both forward-facing guns and side-mounted batteries.

History

Luke's blockade runner (right) approaches a larger Rebel ship of the line.

Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa obtained this vessel from Jorman Thoad, a dealer of starships located on Centares. The transaction involved trading Simon Greyshade's space yacht, which they had previously acquired from The Wheel. Although Greyshade's ship had a higher value, its distinct appearance made the exchange necessary.

Luke questioned the ship's durability as claimed by Thoad after its shields failed upon impact with a single explosive mine. However, Leia pointed out that the mine was a heavy duty mine capable of disabling the shields of even larger ships, explaining the outcome. Eventually, Skywalker and Organa successfully returned to the Rebel base on Yavin 4, where the maintenance crews performed repairs and upgrades on the ship.

Skywalker subsequently used the runner on a mission to assess the extent of the Imperial blockade in the Gordian Reach Sector and to secure vital supplies for the Rebellion from Feriae Junction.

In 3 ABY, Skywalker also utilized the craft to transport the remains of an Imperial warbot to Kligson's Moon for the purpose of repair.
